About Julane

Julane Lund is a dynamic musician based in Indiana who sings and plays violin and the eight stringed Norwegian Hardanger fiddle (known in Norwegian as hardingfele). She also performs on viola, piano, "companion" organ, Native American style flutes, Norwegian willow bark flute, tenor ukulele, harps, percussion and various other ethnic instruments. She breathes new life into traditional music from styles such as Norwegian, Swedish, Danish, Celtic, Metis and Americana by blending elements from classical music and jazz. Her arrangements of traditional melodies and her compositions that are rooted in tradition are exciting and new! A combination of soul stirring melodies and foot stomping rhythms fill her performances. Her use of numerous instruments keeps the soundscape ever changing, and listeners are consistently impressed by her passion, musical knowledge and skill. Julane has garnered numerous awards and inspired audiences throughout Western and Eastern Europe, Quebec, Russia, and the United States.
