Please join us to hear Julane speak about her studies of traditional Norwegian music first as a bachelor degree student and later as a master degree student at Telemark University College in Norway. She will demonstrate Norwegian music on the conventional violin and on the Norwegian Hardanger fiddle, as well as the Norwegian willow bark flute, the lur (a long, wooden, trumpet-like instrument), and the mouth harp. Depending on the time, additional instruments such as the Bashkirian kurai flute, the Native American flute, and the 10 stringed lyre may be played as well. This event is hosted by the Sons of Norway Circle City Lodge, and the public is welcome to attend. Please feel welcome to come for the dinner at 6:00 p.m. with a short Sons of Norway business meeting afterwards. The lecture and concert will start sometime between 7:30 p.m. and 8:00 p.m.
